Severe Heatwave Forecast Across Pakistan on Eid-ul-Azha

Islamabad: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast an intense heatwave across Pakistan during the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha holidays, warning citizens to take precautionary measures as temperatures are expected to rise significantly from May 25 to 31.
According to the latest advisory, the country will experience unusually high temperatures during the Eid period, with the mercury expected to climb up to 7 degrees Celsius above normal in several regions.
The department said the heatwave will affect large parts of Islamabad, Punjab, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where daytime temperatures are likely to remain well above seasonal averages.

Hilly areas including Malakand, Hazara, Gilgit-Baltistan, Bagh, and Neelum Valley are also expected to experience unusually warm conditions.
In Sindh and Balochistan, the weather is forecast to remain extremely hot, with coastal city Karachi likely to see temperatures reaching around 38°C.
Meteorological officials have urged the public to avoid direct sunlight during peak hours, stay hydrated, and take necessary precautions, particularly for children, the elderly, and outdoor workers who may be more vulnerable to heat-related illnesses.
The advisory comes as millions of people are expected to travel and gather during Eid celebrations, raising concerns over heat exposure during outdoor activities.
