How Heavy Rain Affecting Traffic Flow Across Islamabad?

Islamabad: Heavy rain in the federal capital has disrupted traffic movement on several major roads, prompting Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) to deploy personnel at key locations and divert vehicles from waterlogged stretches.

According to the Islamabad police spokesperson, traffic officers are actively managing traffic flow and assisting motorists as rain continues across the city. Standing water on some roads has slowed traffic, with alternative routes being used where necessary.

Police have advised citizens to allow additional travel time and exercise caution, particularly on roads affected by accumulated rainwater.

Motorists have been urged to reduce their speed, maintain a safe distance from vehicles ahead and remain in their designated lanes. Drivers have also been advised to use headlights or fog lights appropriately during poor visibility and ensure that indicators, side mirrors and seat belts are used.

The traffic police particularly cautioned motorcyclists to wear helmets and use the far-left lane while travelling during rainy conditions.

ITP officers remain deployed on major roads to facilitate traffic movement and provide assistance to commuters.

Police said citizens should follow traffic regulations and instructions issued by traffic personnel, stressing that the safety and convenience of road users remain a priority.
