Islamabad: A swift rescue operation by the Capital Development Authority (CDA) Fire and Emergency Services saved 12 people after a fire erupted at Babar Plaza in F-8 Markaz on Tuesday.

The blaze triggered an immediate response from CDA firefighting and emergency teams, who reached the site shortly after being alerted and began efforts to contain the fire and evacuate people from the building.

Firefighters brought the flames under control before they could spread further, while rescue personnel conducted a search of the plaza to ensure that no one remained trapped inside.

The CDA confirmed that all 12 people were safely evacuated and that no deaths or injuries were reported.

The authority said the operation was carried out under challenging conditions and credited the emergency teams with responding promptly to the incident.

CDA officials reiterated that safeguarding citizens and their property remained a priority, adding that its Fire and Emergency Services were equipped to deal with emergencies across the capital.

The authority also urged residents and businesses to immediately alert emergency services in the event of a fire and to cooperate with rescue personnel during emergency operations.

The authority said the operation was carried out under challenging conditions and credited the emergency teams with responding promptly to the incident.
