Rains to Linger Until March 30, Heatwave Looms in April

Islamabad: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast continued rainfall across parts of the country until the end of March, followed by a sharp rise in temperatures from April.

Chief Meteorologist Dr Zaheer Ahmed Baber said intermittent showers are expected to persist through March 30, affecting multiple regions with varying intensity from light to heavy rain.

Speaking to a private news channel, he advised citizens to remain cautious during the ongoing wet spell, particularly in areas prone to urban flooding and reduced visibility.

He warned that a significant weather shift is on the horizon, with April likely to bring much warmer and drier conditions, marking the beginning of an extended hot spell across the country.

According to the Met Office, the hot and dry weather pattern is expected to continue through April and May, lasting until mid-June. The monsoon season is likely to set in around that time, potentially bringing widespread rainfall and relief from the heat.

Authorities have urged the public to take necessary precautions to cope with the changing weather conditions in the coming weeks.
