Hot weather expected across KP

Peshawar: The weather is likely to remain hot and humid in most districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa today, while rain, strong winds and thunderstorms are expected in several parts of the province, according to the Meteorological Department.
The department said rain is likely in Peshawar, Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kohistan and Shangla. Rain is also expected in Abbottabad, Buner, Bajaur, Battagram, Mohmand, Khyber and Mansehra.
Rain accompanied by strong winds and thunderstorms is forecast in Orakzai and Kurram, while Hangu, Mardan, Swabi, Nowshera, Kohat and Bannu may also receive rainfall.
According to the Meteorological Department, thunderstorms and rain are also expected in North Waziristan, South Waziristan and Dera Ismail Khan.
Meanwhile, Takht Bhai recorded the highest rainfall in the province yesterday at 47 millimetres. Kakul received 16mm, Upper Dir 3mm, while one millimetre of rain each was recorded in Parachinar and Kalam.
The maximum temperature in Peshawar is expected to reach 36 degrees Celsius, while the city’s humidity was recorded at 59 percent.
Chitral is likely to record a maximum temperature of 34 degrees Celsius, while temperatures in Bannu are expected to reach 37 degrees Celsius.
