Police Recover 44 Stolen Phones

Rawalpindi: A routine snap-checking operation by Rawalpindi police has led to the arrest of a suspected mobile phone thief and the recovery of 44 stolen handsets worth millions of rupees.

According to police, Wah Saddar Police intercepted a suspicious motorcyclist during snap checking and conducted a search of his belongings.

The search led to the recovery of 44 mobile phones, which police later confirmed had been stolen from a mobile shop in Hassan Abdal, Attock, shortly before the suspect was stopped.

Police said the suspect was allegedly involved in the theft and was attempting to move the stolen handsets when he was intercepted.

A case has been registered against the accused, who remains in police custody as further investigation is underway.

SP Potohar Chaudhry Asar Ali said the suspect would be presented before the court along with substantial evidence to support the prosecution.
