Islamabad Lights Up to Celebrate Makkah Defence Pact

Islamabad: The capital celebrated the Makkah Defence Agreement between Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Türkiye on Sunday evening, highlighting the growing ties and cooperation among the three countries.

The fireworks begin at 8:00pm at New Blue Area, one of Islamabad’s major commercial districts, according to an announcement by the Capital Development Authority (CDA) and Islamabad Capital Territory Administration.

The event is being organised as a public celebration of unity, faith and brotherhood among Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Türkiye.

Promotional material for the event features the national flags of the three countries and highlights their cooperation under the newly signed Makkah Defence Agreement.

Residents and visitors in Islamabad will have the opportunity to attend the event and watch the fireworks display, which is scheduled to begin at 8pm sharp.

The celebration comes as Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Türkiye move to strengthen cooperation in areas of mutual interest. The Makkah Defence Agreement has added a new dimension to relations among the three countries, with the partners emphasising collective security and closer strategic coordination.

By linking the fireworks programme with the agreement, the Islamabad event is expected to provide a public expression of support for the growing partnership and the longstanding ties among the three nations.

The New Blue Area, a prominent commercial destination in the federal capital, is expected to draw residents and visitors for the evening celebration.
