Islamabad: A new national song in the Balochi language has brought a distinctive cultural touch to Pakistan’s Independence Day celebrations, with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praising the artists behind the patriotic production.

Titled “Pak-e-Watan”, the song features renowned Baloch singer Akhtar Chinal, who uses traditional musical elements and passionate Balochi lyrics to express love for Pakistan and the homeland.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said the song from Balochistan had won hearts on Independence Day by presenting a powerful message of patriotism and national unity.

He praised the artists and everyone involved in producing the song, saying their work reflected the deep bond between Balochistan and Pakistan while adding to the celebrations marking the country’s independence.

The prime minister said the use of the Balochi language in a national song had further enriched Independence Day celebrations and highlighted the diversity of Pakistan’s cultural heritage.

Through its lyrics and traditional style, “Pak-e-Watan” presents Pakistan not merely as a geographical entity but as a shared identity and homeland worthy of sacrifice, according to the song’s message.

The production also carries themes of unity, solidarity and brotherhood, using music and regional culture to convey a message of national cohesion.

Akhtar Chinal’s performance brings a distinctly Balochi character to the patriotic song, reflecting the region’s musical traditions while focusing on a broader national sentiment.
