Islamabad: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast more rain and thundershowers in various regions across the country as a new monsoon system continues to affect the weather pattern.

In Lahore, the sun broke through on Sunday, intensifying the heat across the provincial capital. The Met Office reported a minimum temperature of 29°C and a maximum of 33°C, with humidity levels hovering around 71 percent.

However, a fresh weather system bringing more rainfall is expected to impact the region in the coming days.

Meanwhile, Bahawalpur experienced light drizzle in parts of the city, with overcast skies throughout Sunday. The highest temperature recorded was 36°C and the lowest was 27°C. The Met Office has predicted further rain in Bahawalpur and nearby districts within the next 24 hours.

In Sindh, the weather remained predominantly hot and humid, but the Met Department has forecast isolated rain, wind, or thundershowers in several areas including Karachi, Thatta, Hyderabad, Mirpurkhas, Tharparkar, Badin, Umarkot, Sukkur, Kashmore, Jacobabad, Larkana, Dadu, Nowshera Feroze, Shikarpur, and Shaheed Benazirabad.

The Met Office has advised citizens to stay updated on weather alerts and take necessary precautions, especially in areas prone to urban flooding or waterlogging due to monsoon showers.
