Peshawar: In another attack on education in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, a government primary school was destroyed in an explosion in the Srah Ghara area of Bermal Tehsil in Lower South Waziristan.
According to local administration officials, unidentified miscreants planted explosive material inside the Government Primary School named after Malik Shireen Jan. The explosives were later detonated, triggering a powerful blast that severely damaged the school building and reduced a large portion of it to rubble.
No students, teachers, or staff were present at the time of the explosion, and no casualties were reported. However, the attack caused significant damage to the area’s educational infrastructure.
Local residents strongly condemned the incident, expressing concern over repeated attacks on educational institutions. They said such acts jeopardize the future of children and disrupt learning opportunities in the region.
