FIA arrests man over Rs3.2m visa scam

Islamabad: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has arrested a man accused of defrauding seven people of Rs3.2 million by promising to arrange work visas for them, officials said on Thursday.
The arrest was made by the FIA Anti-Human Trafficking Circle (AHTC), Rawalpindi, following registration of FIR No. 208/2026 against Umar Raza Naeem in connection with the alleged visa fraud.
According to an FIA official, the suspect collected Rs3.2 million from seven people linked to the complainant after assuring them that he would arrange work visas. The visas were allegedly never provided, while the money was also not returned.
An FIA team comprising Inspector Amal Hashim and Sub-Inspector Umar arrested the suspect during a raid at around 6:30 am.
The FIA Islamabad Zone said it would continue action against individuals involved in visa fraud and human trafficking, particularly those exploiting people seeking employment opportunities abroad.
