Army chief stresses education, skills and entrepreneurship

Rawalpindi: Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir has urged young people to strengthen their education, professional skills and analytical abilities to navigate an increasingly volatile world influenced by social media and misinformation.
He made the remarks during an interaction with a delegation of Harvard Business School students from several countries currently visiting Pakistan, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
The interaction focused on regional and global developments, Pakistan’s security environment and the country’s efforts to promote peace, stability and prosperity in the region and beyond.
Field Marshal Munir emphasised the importance of education, skill development and entrepreneurship, along with fact-based analysis, for enabling young people to contribute meaningfully to society.
He stressed the need for youth to assess information on the basis of facts and analytical evidence, particularly at a time when social media and propaganda can rapidly influence public perceptions.
During the interaction, the visiting Harvard students shared their experiences in Pakistan and appreciated the openness and warmth of the Pakistani people. They also highlighted the country’s potential and the opportunities it offers.
The engagement comes as Pakistan continues to position itself as a diplomatic bridge in efforts to promote regional stability. Field Marshal Munir recently visited Tehran, where he held meetings with senior Iranian leadership and discussed regional security and efforts to bring an end to the ongoing US-Iran conflict.
Pakistan has also sought to facilitate communication between Washington and Tehran and advocated diplomatic efforts aimed at reducing tensions and restoring regional stability.
The interaction with the Harvard delegation provided an opportunity to discuss Pakistan’s security and economic outlook with an international group of young business students, while highlighting the role of education, entrepreneurship and evidence-based thinking in addressing global challenges.
