Earlier, the spokesperson for the Foreign Office confirmed that Araqchi had established contact with Pakistan’s political and military leadership.

In a telephone conversation with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, both sides discussed the evolving regional situation, prospects for a ceasefire, and Islamabad’s ongoing diplomatic engagement to ease US-Iran tensions.

Dar emphasized the urgency of achieving tangible progress, stating that immediate steps are essential to ensure peace and stability in the region.

Separately, Araqchi also spoke with Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff, Asim Munir, where discussions focused on the broader regional environment and pathways toward de-escalation, according to Iranian media reports.

Officials suggest that Pakistan’s quiet but active diplomatic outreach has played a key role in bringing both sides closer to the negotiating table, raising cautious optimism for a breakthrough in the coming talks.
