Zardari, Shehbaz laud forces after Bannu operation

Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday praised the security forces for killing 11 terrorists during a successful operation in Bannu, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

In separate statements, both leaders reaffirmed the government’s resolve to eradicate terrorism and restore lasting peace and stability across the country.

President Zardari said the elimination of terrorists associated with “Fitna al-Hindustan” and “Fitna al-Khawarij” was essential to protecting national security.

He lauded the professionalism and capabilities of the security forces and law enforcement agencies, saying the nation took pride in their achievements and sacrifices.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said the entire nation stood united with the security forces in the fight against terrorism. He also acknowledged the continued sacrifices and efforts of security personnel to protect the country.

The leaders reiterated that the state would continue efforts to eliminate the threat of terrorism and ensure peace and security.
