Rickshaw Blast Death Toll Rises to Four in Multan

Multan/Muzaffaegarh: The death toll from a rickshaw cylinder explosion near Nang Shah Road in Multan rose to four after a 48-year-old woman, Sughra Bibi, succumbed to her burn injuries at Pak Italian Burn Center (PIBC). She had suffered 90 percent burns in the April 5 incident.
The explosion occurred when a rickshaw carrying around 20 passengers, all from the same family, was traveling from Qureshi Chowk, Muzaffargarh, to Multan. The vehicle caught fire immediately after the blast, leaving passengers with severe injuries.
Fourteen injured were admitted to PIBC, where three remain in critical condition in the ICU. A child with severe inhalational injuries is receiving care in NICU/PICU.
Additional patients are being treated in the Accident & Emergency ward and female and pediatric burn wards.
Authorities are monitoring the condition of the critically injured and have launched an investigation into the cause of the cylinder explosion.
Child Killed, Four Injured in Road Accident
In a separate incident near Rohilanwali, a road collision claimed the life of a 10-year-old boy, Muhammad Ahmed, son of Shabbir, and left four others injured.
The accident occurred when a speeding car collided with a motorcycle on Alipur Road near Adda Stop. Rescue teams quickly transported the injured to the Rural Health Center (RHC) for medical treatment.
The injured include Shahid (26), Asad Sakhi (38), Zahid (37), and Shabbir (35), all residents of Basti Naching, near Dera Dheday Lal.
Police have registered a case and are investigating the circumstances of the collision.
Authorities have urged motorists to drive cautiously, particularly in high-traffic areas, to prevent further tragedies.
