Rs3m Stolen Goods Recovered in Rawalpindi

Rawalpindi: Rawalpindi Police have arrested several suspects in separate operations, recovering stolen valuables, narcotics, liquor, weapons and ammunition, police said.
In one operation, Morgah Police arrested the alleged ringleader of a gang involved in a residential burglary and recovered stolen gold jewellery, cash, an iPhone and other valuables worth more than Rs3 million. The vehicle allegedly used in the crime was also seized.
Police said the suspect has a previous criminal record, including cases of robbery and illegal weapons possession. He was arrested using technical and human intelligence, while raids are under way to arrest his alleged accomplices.
SP Pothohar Chaudhry Asar Ali said the suspect would be prosecuted on the basis of solid evidence.
In a separate anti-narcotics operation, Pirwadhai Police arrested an alleged drug supplier and recovered 2.14 kilograms of charas. Civil Lines Police also arrested another suspected supplier and seized 1.36 kilograms of charas.
Separate cases have been registered against both suspects, while police said efforts to curb drug trafficking would continue.
Meanwhile, SSP Operations Malik Tariq Mehboob and SSP Investigation Saifullah held open courts at Police Lines Headquarters, where they heard citizens’ complaints and issued instructions to the relevant officers for their resolution.
The officers directed officials to complete legal proceedings on referred applications within the stipulated timeframe and warned that negligence in resolving public complaints would not be tolerated. They also stressed the need to ensure effective service delivery at police stations.
Police said the protection of citizens’ lives and property and the provision of public facilities remain among its top priorities in line with the Punjab chief minister’s vision.
Separately, Gujar Khan Police arrested a man for allegedly making a bogus call to emergency helpline 15 to report a land-grabbing incident. An investigation found no evidence of the alleged encroachment, following which a case was registered against the caller.
SP Saddar Anam Sher said the 15 helpline was an emergency service for citizens and warned that its misuse would lead to legal action.
In further operations across the jurisdictions of Pirwadhai, Westridge, Chaklala, Taxila and Dhamial police stations, police arrested six individuals and recovered 15 litres of liquor, weapons and ammunition.
Divisional SPs said operations against drug dealers and people involved in the illegal possession of weapons would continue across Rawalpindi.
