RCB Hosts Kitchen Competitions for Food Quality

Rawalpindi: The Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB) conducted inspections under the “Kitchen Competition” program, scrutinizing the kitchens of seven well-known brands on Tuesday.

As per the RCB spokesperson, the team also assessed the production units of the restaurants, evaluating the standard of food items.
A dedicated team, following directives from the Director of Military Land and Cantonments Department, RCB, visited the kitchens of prominent restaurants participating in the kitchen competition, located in the main Saddar area.
The inspection team comprised Additional Cantonment Executive Officer (CEO) Umeer Mehboob, Madam Nabila from Punjab Food Authority (PFA), Madam Nafisa from Islamabad Food Authority (IFA), Chief Public Health Officer RCB Nasir Hussain, In-Charge Food Branch Sanitary Inspector Rana Shoaib Azim, and Assistant Food Cell Javed Akhtar, who meticulously examined the kitchens of the renowned hotels.
In accordance with the competition’s checklist, the team verified medical certificates of food handlers, kitchen cleanliness, lighting, ventilation, and adherence to food preparation protocols.
Addressing the event, the Additional CEO stated that the purpose of the visit was to assess esteemed brands and food outlets within the Rawalpindi Cantt Board jurisdiction, ensuring compliance with Standard Operating Procedures.
RCB’s aim is to guarantee the provision of wholesome food items to citizens, he remarked, noting that the competition was organized in collaboration with IFA and PFA.
He further disclosed plans for subsequent visits to various locations after a week, emphasizing RCB and PFA’s commitment to utilizing all available resources to uphold the delivery of high-quality food items to the populace.
