New Prices of Milk, Yogurt Announced in Rawalpindi
News Desk
Rawalpindi: The Fresh Milk Association has increased the prices of milk and yogurt in Rawalpindi, triggering a dispute with the district administration over unauthorized price hikes.
According to the association, the price of milk has been raised by Rs30 per liter, increasing from Rs220 to Rs250, while yogurt prices have gone up by Rs40 per kilogram, from Rs240 to Rs280.
The association maintains that the increase is necessary due to rising production and supply costs.
However, the district administration has rejected the move, stating that the official price of milk remains Rs190 per liter and that no association is authorized to revise prices without prior approval.
Officials warned that action could be taken against those violating government-notified rates.
