Capital Sealed Off as Security Checks Intensify

Islamabad: Authorities in the federal capital have intensified security measures by launching large-scale combing and search operations across multiple areas on the directives of the Inspector General of Police.
The coordinated operation covered the jurisdictions of several police stations, including Kirpa, Tarnol, Secretariat, Lohi Bher, Noon, Sumbal, Koral, Ramna, and Shahzad Town. The drive was supervised by zonal Superintendents of Police (SPs), with active participation of both male and female personnel.
According to officials, 674 individuals and 259 households were checked during the operation. Police also inspected 31 hotels and 26 shops, while 260 motorcycles and 96 vehicles were thoroughly examined.

During the searches, 31 suspicious individuals and 10 motorcycles were taken into custody and shifted to concerned police stations for further verification.
To strengthen security, special checkpoints have been set up at key entry and exit points of the city. Patrol units and special squads are also conducting continuous surveillance, while senior officers remain in the field overseeing the operations.
Police have urged citizens to cooperate during security checks and report any suspicious activity immediately, reiterating their commitment to ensuring the safety of lives and property in the capital.
Earlier,government employees in Islamabad have been directed to work from home as authorities imposed a high-security alert across the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi on Monday.
According to official directives, all ministries, divisions, and federal institutions located in the Red Zone will operate remotely for the day. The move comes amid extensive security measures, including the complete closure of the Red Zone for all types of traffic.
