Rawalpindi Finalizes High-Level Security for Pak-Australia ODI

Rawalpindi: The Rawalpindi district administration has finalized arrangements for the upcoming One-Day International (ODI) match between Pakistan national cricket team and Australia national cricket team at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium during Australia’s tour of Pakistan.
An important meeting chaired by Additional Deputy Commissioner General (ADCG) Maliha Sahar reviewed security, traffic management, municipal services and emergency response plans for the international fixture.
Before the meeting, ADCG Maliha Sahar, along with officials from law enforcement agencies, traffic police, Rescue 1122, the Health Department and other departments, visited the stadium to inspect arrangements. The team reviewed entry and exit points, spectator facilities, parking areas, media boxes and emergency response locations.
The meeting decided that comprehensive security measures would be implemented for the visiting Australian squad, match officials, players and spectators. Authorities directed all concerned departments to adopt a coordinated and modern security plan to handle any emergency situation effectively.

Officials also briefed participants on a special traffic management strategy aimed at reducing inconvenience for residents during the match. The plan includes alternate traffic routes, designated parking areas and the deployment of additional traffic personnel to ensure smooth flow of vehicles. A public traffic advisory will also be issued ahead of the match.
Municipal authorities were instructed to improve cleanliness, waste disposal, street lighting and drainage arrangements in and around the stadium, while all departments were directed to complete preparations before the event and submit compliance reports.
Meanwhile, Rescue 1122 and the Health Department were placed on high alert. Special medical camps, ambulances and emergency response teams will be deployed inside and outside the stadium to provide immediate medical assistance if needed.
The administration also emphasized providing maximum facilities to cricket fans, including clean drinking water, hygienic washrooms, efficient gate management and special arrangements for women and families.
Speaking on the occasion, Maliha Sahar said ensuring the peaceful, secure and successful conduct of the international match remained the administration’s top priority, adding that all departments were working in close coordination to project a positive image of Pakistan and provide the best possible experience for cricket fans.
