Lahore: The Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 11 has officially kicked off with an exciting opening clash between defending champions Lahore Qalandars and debutants Hyderabad Kingsmen at Gaddafi Stadium.

After winning the toss, Lahore Qalandars elected to bat first, setting the tone for the much-anticipated tournament opener. The match marks the beginning of the latest PSL edition, drawing significant attention from cricket fans across the country.

Despite the excitement, spectators are notably absent from the stadium. Due to the government’s decision aimed at managing the ongoing regional tensions and preventing an energy crisis, fans are restricted to watching the matches via television and online platforms.

The tournament is being broadcast live on Geo Super and streamed digitally through Myco.

Meanwhile, stringent security arrangements have been put in place across Lahore for the opening fixture. According to DIG Operations Faisal Kamran, a high alert has been declared in view of the sensitive situation.

A comprehensive security cordon has been established in and around the stadium, with over 6,000 police personnel and security officials deployed to ensure the safety of players and officials.

Officials from the Safe City Authority confirmed that more than 950 advanced surveillance cameras are actively monitoring the city. The security framework has been further strengthened through the use of facial recognition systems, artificial intelligence, and drone surveillance, covering key areas including the stadium, team routes, hotels, and the airport surroundings.

The opening match, scheduled to begin at 7 PM, sets the stage for what promises to be another thrilling season of Pakistan’s premier T20 league.aa
