Police Arrest Main Suspect in Murder, Abduction Case

Rawalpindi: Ratta Amral police have arrested the prime suspect allegedly involved in the shooting death of a married woman and the abduction of her brother.

According to police, the complainant alleged that the suspect shot and killed his sister before abducting him and holding him in wrongful confinement.

Following registration of a case, police traced and arrested the suspect with the help of technical resources and human intelligence, officials said.

Police added that the suspect has a previous criminal record and has been involved in cases including attempted murder and causing bodily harm.

SP (Rawal) Bedar Bakht Gondal said the suspect would be prosecuted on the basis of solid evidence and that all legal requirements would be fulfilled.

Meanwhile, Dhamial police have arrested a suspect allegedly involved in stealing gold jewellery from a widow’s house and recovered Rs4 million believed to be proceeds from the sale of the stolen jewellery.

According to police, the suspect allegedly stole the jewellery while the woman was away from her home. The recovered Rs4 million was reportedly obtained from selling the stolen items.

Police said the suspect was traced and arrested using technical and human intelligence. Efforts are underway to arrest his alleged accomplices, with raids being conducted at various locations.

SP (Saddar) Anam Sher said the case against the arrested suspect would be presented before the court on the basis of solid evidence.
