Punjab Health Minister Flags Poor HF Hospital Cleanliness

Rawalpindi: Punjab Health Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique on Friday expressed concern over poor cleanliness conditions during a surprise visit to Holy Family Hospital and directed the administration to ensure immediate improvement.
During the visit, the minister inspected various departments of the hospital and instructed authorities to maintain proper hygiene standards and improve service delivery, particularly in high-pressure areas.
Officials said the minister directed staff in the emergency ward to ensure timely and efficient treatment for patients, while counter staff were instructed to deal with visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
“The provision of dignified and quality healthcare to the public is the government’s top priority,” the minister said, adding that no compromise would be made on treatment standards.
Authorities Intensify Eid Waste Disposal in Taxila, Wah
Sanitation staff of the Suthra Punjab agency remained active throughout Eid-ul-Azha, carrying out an extensive cleanliness operation across the twin cities of Taxila and Wah to ensure timely collection and disposal of sacrificial animal waste.

Assistant Commissioner Maria Javaid visited several dumping sites and urban localities during the Eid holidays to review sanitation arrangements and monitor ongoing cleanliness operations. She inspected waste lifting activities, transportation systems, and disposal mechanisms at designated sites to ensure effective coordination between field teams and union councils.
Officials reported that more than 615 tons of animal waste were collected and safely disposed of during the three-day operation. According to details, 264 tons of waste were removed on the first day, followed by 233 tons on the second day and 118 tons on the third day, reflecting continuous round-the-clock efforts by sanitation teams to maintain hygiene standards in the region.
The assistant commissioner directed sanitation workers to remain vigilant and ensure immediate removal of waste from streets, markets, roads, and residential areas to avoid inconvenience to the public.
She reiterated that maintaining a clean and healthy environment for citizens during Eid remained the top priority of the local administration.
