CM Maryam Undergoes Major Surgery, Shifted Home

Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Maryam Nawaz underwent a major surgery at Sharif Medical City Hospital and was later shifted home after the successful procedure, senior provincial minister Marriyum Aurangzeb confirmed on Thursday.

In a statement shared on X, Marriyum Aurangzeb said the Punjab chief minister underwent surgery at the hospital before being discharged to continue recovery at home.

Despite being under medical care, Maryam Nawaz continued to monitor administrative affairs across Punjab, including security and cleanliness arrangements during Eid, the minister added.

She remained in contact with officials and actively supervised governance matters from the hospital.

Meanwhile, Federal Information Technology Minister Shaza Fatima Khawaja also prayed for the chief minister’s speedy recovery and good health.

Maryam Nawaz had previously undergone throat surgery in Geneva, Switzerland, in January 2023. According to reports at the time, doctors performed a three-hour operation on two of her throat glands before she was shifted to recovery.
