FBR offices to remain open on May 30 for tax collection

Islamabad: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) on Friday announced that all its field formations across the country will remain open on Saturday, May 30, for the collection of duties and taxes.
According to an official statement issued by the FBR, all Large Taxpayers’ Offices (LTOs), Medium Taxpayers’ Offices (MTOs), Corporate Tax Offices (CTOs), and Regional Tax Offices (RTOs) will observe the day as a routine working day to facilitate taxpayers.
PSX gains over 2,237 points amid bullish trading
The benchmark KSE-100 Index of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) witnessed a strong bullish trend on Friday, gaining 2,237.52 points, or 1.30 percent, to close at 173,962.82 points compared to 171,725.29 points recorded on the previous trading day.
According to PSX data, the ready market recorded a trading volume of 555.063 million shares with a traded value of Rs40.877 billion, compared to 506.355 million shares worth Rs31.146 billion in the previous session.
Market capitalization increased to Rs19.166 trillion from Rs18.989 trillion a day earlier.

Out of 490 active companies in the ready market, 298 recorded gains, 161 posted losses, while 31 remained unchanged.
TRG Pak Ltd led the volume chart with 34.194 million shares, followed by Bank of Punjab with 23.894 million shares and WorldCall Telecom with 22.881 million shares.
Among the top gainers, PIA Holding Company LimitedB surged by Rs669.12 to close at Rs18,598.00, while Khairpur Sugar Mills Limited gained Rs220.86 to settle at Rs2,429.42.
On the losing side, Sapphire Textile Mills Limited declined by Rs21.74 to close at Rs1,335.68, while Ismail Industries Limited fell by Rs13.15 to settle at Rs1,956.00.
In the futures market, turnover stood at 485.199 million shares valued at Rs21.265 billion, compared to 331.394 million shares worth Rs18.440 billion in the previous session.
Out of 318 companies in the futures market, 195 recorded gains, 121 declined, and two remained unchanged, according to PSX data.
