23 Students Caught Cheating in Matric Exams, Cases Registered

Sukkur: The authorities have registered copying cases against multiple candidates after 23 students were caught cheating during matriculation examinations at a government school under the Sukkur Education Board.
The Assistant Controller of Examinations said strict monitoring measures were in place, and action was taken against all those found violating examination rules. Legal proceedings have also been initiated in accordance with regulations.

Punjab Minister Rejects 4-Day School Rumours, Confirms 5-Day Week
Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat has dismissed rumours regarding a reduced school week, clarifying that all educational institutions will operate five days a week starting April 1.
In a statement issued from Lahore, he termed reports suggesting that schools would open four days a week as fake. He emphasized that classes across schools, colleges, and universities will continue in a regular five-day schedule.
The minister further stated that educational institutions will function through physical classes, rejecting the possibility of hybrid or online learning systems. He urged students to attend institutions in person and continue their studies as usual.
He reiterated that academic activities will proceed without disruption across the province.
Earlier, Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat has rejected rumours circulating about an extension in school holidays, clarifying that all educational institutions will reopen as per the previously announced schedule.
In a statement, the minister said that schools and colleges across the province will resume operations from January 12 as planned. He termed the viral notification claiming an extension of holidays as fake and unauthorised.
Rana Sikandar Hayat further stated that the Education Department has not issued any notification regarding an extension in holidays, and no such decision has been made.
He reaffirmed that there will be no change in the schedule, adding that educational institutions in Punjab will reopen on time and continue their academic activities as per routine.
