What is the alleged US–Israel “eight-point war plan” for Iran?
News Desk
Tehran/Washington: Iran’s English-language daily Tehran Times has claimed that the United States and Israel have prepared an extensive eight-point war plan targeting Iran, including strikes on leadership, major cities, and nuclear facilities, along with potential ground and limited nuclear operations.
According to a report cited by Al-Arabiya Urdu, the alleged plan includes targeting key Iranian leadership and critical infrastructure in major urban centres.
It also outlines a coordinated ground offensive, with opposition forces of around 4,000 fighters entering Iran from the northwest.
The report further claims that approximately 2,500 US troops could enter from the southeast, using airports in Bandar Abbas, Kermanshah, Urmia and Tabriz for deployment.

It adds that small combat units, consisting of five to 15 personnel, may be parachuted into sensitive civilian and nuclear facilities to carry out missile strikes.
The plan also reportedly includes preparations for limited nuclear attacks on selected military and nuclear targets.
The claims come as the ongoing conflict in Iran enters its second month, with continued airstrikes reported on Iranian cities and retaliatory rocket fire detected by Israeli forces.
The war, which began following US and Israeli strikes on Iran on February 28, has since expanded across the Middle East, resulting in thousands of casualties and raising concerns over global energy disruptions.
Separately, The Washington Post reported that the Pentagon is preparing for a potential ground operation in Iran that could last several weeks.

The White House has confirmed that the US Department of Defense is presenting President Donald Trump with a range of military options.
Officials familiar with the planning said possible scenarios include attempts to control Iran’s Kharg Island and conduct operations near the Strait of Hormuz, a critical global oil transit route.
According to the report, preparations do not indicate that a final decision has been made. However, a US source suggested that any ground operation could extend up to two months.
Potential US plans may involve both special operations forces and conventional infantry units. US Marines have already been deployed to the region, and additional troops from the 82nd Airborne Division are reportedly being prepared for deployment as the conflict continues to intensify.
