Lahore: Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise Lahore Qalandars has fined its captain Shaheen Shah Afridi Rs1 million over a security violation during the ongoing tournament.
According to an official statement, the action was taken following an internal review of the incident, with the franchise emphasizing its commitment to discipline and adherence to security protocols.
The decision has also been communicated to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).
The statement said the matter stemmed from a misunderstanding rather than a deliberate breach, adding that the incident, which reportedly occurred at the team hotel, had been exaggerated and presented out of context.

The development follows allegations involving Shaheen Afridi and teammate Sikandar Raza during PSL 11.
According to a letter written by Director General (Operations) Faisal Kamran to the PCB and PSL administration, four guests associated with the players allegedly breached the security cordon and entered their hotel room late at night.
The letter claimed the guests remained in the room for around an hour and a half, raising concerns over violation of established security arrangements.
Lahore Qalandars, however, reiterated that it respects all security protocols and has taken disciplinary action to ensure accountability within the team.
