Islamabad: Ahead of Eid al-Azha, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) has fixed butchers’ and market-related charges for sacrificial animals in Islamabad, setting the fee at Rs3,000 for small animals and Rs4,000 for large animals at official cattle markets across the federal capital.

The rates were announced during a visit by CDA Chairman and Chief Commissioner Islamabad Sohail Ashraf to the city’s sacrificial cattle market on Monday, where he reviewed arrangements for traders and citizens ahead of Eid-ul-Azha.

He was accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Islamabad Irfan Nawaz Memon, Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad Chief Officer Dr Anam Fatima and other senior officials.

During the briefing, officials informed the CDA chairman that multiple facilities had been arranged to facilitate buyers, traders, and visitors at the cattle markets.

Authorities said uninterrupted clean drinking water, lighting arrangements, restroom facilities, and free parking had been ensured at the sites. Special measures had also been taken to maintain cleanliness, security, and smooth management during the cattle trading period.

Officials further said that CDA and MCI had established a dedicated help desk and helpline for citizens to report complaints related to sanitation, water supply, parking, restroom facilities, and other civic issues.

Chairman CDA directed officials to ensure immediate resolution of public complaints and further strengthen security and operational arrangements at the markets.

Expressing satisfaction over the preparations, Sohail Ashraf said the administration was making every effort to facilitate residents and traders during Eid-related activities in the capital.

Later, the CDA chairman also visited the Diplomatic Enclave, where he reviewed civic and security arrangements and directed authorities to complete cleanliness, lighting, parking, and development work on priority basis.
