Pakistan Deploys Fighter Jets to Saudi Arabia
News Desk
Islamabad: Pakistan has deployed fighter jets and additional military assets to Saudi Arabia under a recently signed defence pact, signalling a further strengthening of strategic ties between the two longtime allies.
According to a statement by the Saudi Ministry of Defense, Pakistani aircraft, including fighter jets and support units, have arrived at the King Abdulaziz Air Base.
The deployment is aimed at enhancing joint defence coordination and reinforcing regional security.
The move follows a landmark mutual defence agreement signed between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia in September 2025. Under the pact, both nations committed to collective defence, agreeing to treat any aggression against one as a threat to both.
The latest development comes at a sensitive time, as Islamabad hosts high-level diplomatic efforts to de-escalate tensions linked to the ongoing Iran conflict, underscoring Pakistan’s dual role in regional security and mediation.

Military cooperation between the two countries has historically included training missions, advisory roles, and joint exercises. Analysts view the current deployment as part of a broader framework to institutionalise that cooperation under the new agreement.
Alongside defence collaboration, economic ties remain a key pillar of the relationship. Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Jadaan visited Pakistan recently, reflecting Riyadh’s continued financial backing.
Saudi Arabia has supported Pakistan during economic challenges in the past, notably through a $6 billion assistance package announced in 2018, which included a central bank deposit and deferred oil payment facilities.
The latest military deployment highlights the evolving nature of Pakistan-Saudi relations, combining security coordination with sustained economic partnership amid shifting regional dynamics.
