Karachi: A disruption in sea breeze patterns, triggered by an emerging anticyclonic system near the Oman coast, is expected to drive temperatures higher in Karachi and parts of Sindh and Balochistan over the coming days.

Weather experts say the high-pressure system is limiting the cooling effect of coastal winds, leading to hotter and drier conditions across the region. As a result, Karachi is likely to experience a noticeable rise in daytime temperatures through Tuesday.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast hot and dry weather in the city, with maximum temperatures expected to range between 37°C and 39°C. Lower humidity levels are also contributing to the increase in heat intensity.

Despite the rising temperatures, analysts clarify that the current conditions do not qualify as a heatwave. They note that light sea breezes are expected to return during the evening and nighttime, offering some relief.

Looking ahead, there are indications of possible rainfall in parts of Sindh, including Karachi, towards the end of April or early May, which could help moderate the prevailing heat.

The maximum temperature reached around 33°C, while the minimum was recorded near 22°C. Dry weather continued to persist, with no chances of rainfall, contributing to rising heat intensity.
