Kech: Health authorities have raised concern over a steady rise in dengue infections in Kech district, where nearly 100 cases have been reported over the past three months.

Officials from the Balochistan Health Department confirmed that 96 dengue cases have been recorded, prompting swift measures to contain the spread of the mosquito-borne disease.

In response, authorities have constituted a dedicated anti-dengue task force to monitor the situation and coordinate preventive efforts. A district-wide anti-dengue campaign is also being launched, focusing on awareness, surveillance, and vector control.

Health officials warned that the presence of stagnant rainwater in various areas of Kech is creating ideal breeding conditions for mosquitoes, raising fears of a further spike in cases if timely action is not taken.
