Mela Chiraghan, also called the Festival of Lights, draws thousands of visitors each year who gather to witness lamp-lighting ceremonies, qawwali performances, and traditional festivities honoring Shah Hussain’s spiritual legacy.

Born in 1538 during the Mughal era, Shah Hussain’s Punjabi poetry delves into themes of love, longing, and union with the Divine, earning him a lasting place in Sufi tradition and Punjabi literature. His teachings continue to inspire devotees and literary enthusiasts alike, centuries after his passing in 1599.

This year, the festival promises to illuminate Lahore with music, devotion, and the timeless poetry of a saint whose words still echo through the streets of the city.
