Islamabad Set 154-Run Target for Hyderabad in PSL 11 Clash

Karachi: In the 21st match of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 11, Islamabad United posted a competitive total of 153 for 9 against Hyderabad Kingsmen at the National Stadium Karachi, setting a target of 154 runs.

After winning the toss, Hyderabad Kingsmen opted to field first.

Islamabad United’s innings was anchored by Devon Conway, who scored 45 runs, while Mark Chapman contributed 42. Other contributions came from Sameer Minhas (22) and Muhammad Faiq (18), but the rest of the batting lineup struggled, with Haider Ali (6), Faheem Ashraf (5), Imad Wasim (2), and Mehran Mumtaz failing to make an impact.

For Hyderabad, Asif Mahmood delivered a standout performance, claiming four wickets in the final over. Muhammad Ali picked up two wickets, while Maxwell added one to his tally.

Conway Happy being part of the PSL,

Speaking after the innings, Conway expressed his delight at being part of the PSL, calling it a “wonderful experience.” He noted that he had previously toured Pakistan with the New Zealand team, visiting cities like Karachi, Islamabad, and Lahore, and praised the country’s hospitality, food, and hotel facilities.

 He also recalled fond memories of the Karachi Test match during that tour and commended the high quality of fast bowling in the league.

Sri LankanAsalanka Joins PSL 

In a separate development, Sri Lankan all-rounder Charith Asalanka has joined the Pakistan Super League, signing with defending champions Lahore Qalandars. 

He has been brought in as a replacement for the injured Parvez Hussain Amon and is expected to join the squad ahead of their April 17 clash against Quetta Gladiators.
