Main Suspect Arrested in Death of 11-Year-Old Student

Rawalpindi: Police have arrested the main suspect in the case involving the violent death of an 11-year-old madrassa student in Kallar Syedan, marking a major development in the investigation.

According to Rawalpindi police, the arrested suspect was a teacher at the madrassa attended by the deceased child. Police said the suspect allegedly took the child’s body from the hospital to his native village before fleeing the area.

City Police Officer (CPO) Hassan Mushtaq Sukhera had constituted special teams following the incident and directed them to trace and arrest the main accused.

Police said the teams had been working continuously to locate the suspect and eventually succeeded in making the arrest.

Two other suspects had already been arrested in connection with the case, according to police.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Saddar Anam Sher said the arrested suspect would be investigated strictly on merit and that charges would be pursued on the basis of solid evidence.

“Violence against children is not tolerable under any circumstances,” the SP said, adding that the accused would be brought to justice and given punishment in accordance with the law if found guilty.

The police said further investigation into the circumstances surrounding the child’s death was underway.
