Islamabad: Iran’s diplomatic outreach in the region is set to continue as Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi prepares to visit Pakistan following his ongoing trip to Oman, officials confirmed.
The visit will be part of a broader diplomatic tour that will also take him to Russia, highlighting Tehran’s active engagement on key regional and global issues.
During his earlier stop in Islamabad, Araqchi appreciated Pakistan’s role in promoting peace and described bilateral discussions as productive. He noted that Iran had put forward a practical framework aimed at achieving a lasting end to ongoing conflicts, while also questioning the seriousness of the United States in pursuing diplomacy.

Meanwhile, concerns are mounting at the global level. The United Nations has warned that any disruption in the Strait of Hormuz could trigger a severe humanitarian crisis. Officials cautioned that a potential blockade may disrupt global fertilizer supplies, threatening food security and increasing the risk of widespread hunger.
UN representatives stressed that prolonged maritime disruptions could push millions toward famine, urging immediate diplomatic efforts to safeguard critical supply chains and prevent further escalation.
