Hajj sermon calls for unity, patience, #obedience ,during pilgrimage

Makkah:Millions of Muslims gathered on the plains of Arafat on Tuesday as the annual Hajj sermon urged pilgrims to remain patient during hardships, strengthen their faith and promote unity among Muslims worldwide.

The Hajj Khutbah was delivered at Namirah Mosque by Sheikh Ali Al Hudaify before pilgrims offered combined and shortened Zuhr and Asr prayers.

In his sermon, Sheikh Al Hudaify called on Muslims to fear Allah, fulfil their commitments and remain sincere in their worship. He said true success in the Hereafter lies in worshipping Allah alone and following the path of monotheism.

He also reminded worshippers that Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was the final messenger of Allah and encouraged Muslims to adopt honesty, avoid falsehood, backbiting and religious innovations.

Highlighting the importance of Hajj, Sheikh Al Hudaify described the pilgrimage as a symbol of unity, harmony and solidarity among Muslims from across the world. He said the gathering reflects cooperation and brotherhood regardless of nationality or background.

The imam further urged pilgrims to maintain discipline during Hajj and avoid arguments, political slogans and partisan activities. He advised worshippers to follow the instructions of the Saudi authorities to prevent chaos and ensure the safety of pilgrims.

Special prayers were offered for the forgiveness of sins, acceptance of worship and the well-being of Muslims around the world. Sheikh Al Hudaify prayed for pilgrims to complete their journey safely and return home blessed and successful.

After completing the rituals at Arafat, pilgrims are scheduled to travel to Mina for the next stage of Hajj.

Namirah Mosque holds great historical importance in Islam as it is associated with the place where Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) delivered his Farewell Sermon. Located around 22 kilometres from Masjid al Haram, it is one of the largest mosques in the holy sites area.

Separately, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif congratulated Muslims and pilgrims on the occasion of Hajj, describing it as a spiritually uplifting opportunity to seek the mercy and blessings of Allah Almighty.

He prayed for the acceptance of pilgrims’ worship and urged Muslims to follow Islamic teachings and values in their daily lives.
