Meera revealed that the film was directed by Shaan Shahid, adding that working under his direction was a unique and memorable experience. She said the role demanded intense emotional and psychological commitment, to the extent that it affected her mental health during filming.

According to Meera, she became deeply immersed in the character and experienced significant stress and depression while preparing for the role. She said acting requires complete dedication and passion, especially for psychologically intense characters such as the one portrayed in Psycho.

Calling the film a matter of “Pakistan’s pride, dignity and identity,” Meera said the local film industry produces only a limited number of high-quality films each year, but projects like Psycho can improve Pakistan’s standing in international cinema markets.

She also hinted at plans for a possible sequel, saying that if Psycho 2 is produced, it would be filmed in Karachi.

Veteran actor Mustafa Qureshi, who also attended the event, praised efforts to revive Pakistani cinema and emphasized the need for stronger storytelling and greater industry support.

During the media interaction, Mustafa Qureshi also commented on film production trends in Punjab and criticized what he described as disproportionate media attention given to sensational incidents over more important national issues.

The press conference concluded with a tribute to the veteran actor for his longstanding contributions to Pakistan’s entertainment industry.
