V Turns Toronto Concert Meme Into Viral BTS Moment
News Desk
Toronto: A longtime BTS fandom reference turned into a surprise fan interaction when V responded to a shouted “Niagara Popo” during the group’s recent concert in Toronto.
The moment unfolded during BTS’ two-night stop at Rogers Stadium, where a fan at the barrier called out the phrase associated with V, whose real name is Kim Tae-hyung. Recognising the reference, the singer immediately turned toward the crowd and approached the fan.
V then took the fan’s vlogging camera and recorded a video with her, transforming the unexpected exchange into one of the most memorable moments of the Toronto shows.
“Niagara Popo” is a familiar phrase among BTS fans and is linked to V’s playful reference to Niagara Falls during a previous BTS visit. The callback appeared to instantly catch his attention, highlighting how deeply the group’s shared fandom lore can shape interactions between the members and ARMY.
The fan, reportedly a YouTube reactor, later found herself at the centre of a moment that quickly resonated with BTS fans online.
BTS concluded their two-night Toronto stint on Sunday, August 23, as part of their ARIRANG World Tour.
The group will next head to Chicago, where they are scheduled to perform at Soldier Field on August 27 and 28.
