Adnan Siddiqui Questions Zanjeerin’s Editing

Islamabad: Pakistani actor Adnan Siddiqui has reignited debate over the storytelling of drama serial ‘Zanjeerin’ after revealing that several scenes he filmed were removed from the final episodes.

In a recent interview, Siddiqui praised the drama’s cast and filming locations but questioned the editing decisions, saying he had shot multiple scenes with co-star Usman Javed that ultimately did not make it to air.

According to the veteran actor, the cuts significantly reduced the presence of his character, leaving what he described as an important role appearing almost like a brief supporting part.

Siddiqui also pointed to the limited screen presence of Javed, who plays Toorsim, despite the character being introduced as a significant part of the drama. He further commented on lead actress Sajal Aly’s role, saying her appearance has also been limited in several episodes.

The actor suggested that the drama’s narrative has increasingly shifted toward the relationship between Sohrab Khan and Sherry, raising questions about whether the original balance among the central characters has been altered during the editing process.

His comments come after Javed previously voiced concerns about the editing of ‘Zanjeerin’, making Siddiqui the second cast member to publicly discuss the issue.

The remarks have prompted viewers to debate whether extensive editing has affected the drama’s character development, storyline and overall impact, with some questioning whether scenes filmed for key characters could have changed the direction of the narrative if they had remained in the final cut.
