Cop Suspended Over Alleged Checkpoint Bribe

Islamabad: An Islamabad police officer has been suspended after a video allegedly showing him demanding a bribe from a citizen at a checkpoint went viral on social media.

Taking notice of the video, SSP(Investigation) Suleman Zafar ordered the immediate suspension of the officer involved.

ASP Nausherwan Minhas has been appointed as the inquiry officer to conduct a transparent investigation into the incident and determine the facts.

SSP (Investigation) Suleman Zafar said corruption and misuse of authority would not be tolerated under any circumstances, adding that strict action would be taken against officials found involved in such practices.
