BISE Tightens Vigilance: 20 Caught Cheating, Staff Suspended
News Desk
Rawalpindi: The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Rawalpindi has intensified monitoring of ongoing matriculation examinations, resulting in 20 candidates being caught using unfair means, while strict disciplinary action has been taken against examination staff, officials said on Wednesday.
According to a BISE spokesperson, the measures are being carried out under the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz to ensure transparency and strengthen the examination system.
Controller of Examinations Tanveer Asghar Awan, on the directives of Commissioner and Board Chairman Engineer Aamir Khattak, visited multiple examination centres, including Government Gilani Model High School Wah Cantt and Government High School Wah Village, to review adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), CCTV surveillance, and overall security arrangements.

The spokesperson said a modern command and control room established at the board office is enabling continuous online monitoring of examination activities, significantly improving discipline and transparency.
Due to enhanced surveillance, cheating cases were detected at several centres: one case each in Talagang, Khayaban-e-Sir Syed, and Skoat Kallar Syedan, while 16 cases were reported at Government Higher Secondary School Basali. All cases have been registered as unfair means cases and referred to the board’s discipline branch.
Strict action was also taken against examination staff. An invigilator at Government Higher Secondary School Basali was removed from duty, while the superintendent and deputy superintendent at Government Girls High School Kahuta were suspended. In total, staff from two examination centres—including a superintendent, deputy superintendent, and an invigilator—have been suspended.
The spokesperson reiterated that a zero-tolerance policy is being enforced against cheating and negligence, adding that all necessary steps are being taken to ensure a fair and transparent examination process.
