Court to Frame Charges on April 21 in Iman Hostel Murder Case

Islamabad: A district and sessions court in Islamabad on Wednesday continued proceedings in the murder case of 22-year-old student Iman Afroz, who was killed in a hostel at the International Islamic University (IIU), Islamabad.
The hearing was conducted by Additional District and Sessions Judge Muhammad Afzal Majoka.
During the proceedings, state counsel Naveed Hussain Kyani appeared before the court. In a related arms recovery case, the challan was submitted and copies were provided to the accused in accordance with legal requirements.
The court announced that formal charges against the accused will be framed at the next hearing. In the murder case, registered under relevant legal provisions, the court also summoned additional witnesses to record their statements.
The case was registered at Ramna Police Station. The court adjourned further proceedings until April 21, when charge framing is expected and the trial will proceed to the next stage.
Three, Including Two Women, Arrested in Minor Girl Rape Case
Pirwadhai police have arrested three individuals, including two women, in connection with the alleged rape of a 17-year-old girl, police said on Wednesday.
According to officials, the arrested suspects include the victim’s aunt, her uncle, and another woman. The complainant, the victim’s mother, alleged that her sister, in collusion with her husband, subjected her daughter to sexual assault.
She further claimed that the suspects later handed the girl over to another woman for the purpose of prostitution.
Police registered the case and, using human intelligence along with other resources, carried out a swift operation leading to the arrest of the three main accused.
The victim has undergone a medical examination.
Senior Superintendent of Police Saad Arshad stated that the arrested individuals would be challaned in court with solid evidence and brought to justice.
