Dhaka: The Bangladesh government has halted the sacrifice of a rare white buffalo named after US President Donald Trump during Eid-ul-Adha after authorities intervened due to massive public interest and security concerns.

According to Reuters, the buffalo, popularly nicknamed “Donald Trump” because of its distinctive golden-colored hair, became an internet sensation after videos of the animal went viral on social media across Bangladesh.

The rare buffalo, weighing around 700 kilograms, had reportedly been sold for sacrifice on Eid-ul-Adha. However, large crowds began gathering to see the animal ahead of the festival, prompting concerns over public safety and crowd management.
