Murree on Alert as Monsoon Rains Continue

Murree: Authorities in Murree have stepped up preparations to deal with possible rain-related emergencies as the hill station experiences an ongoing monsoon spell.

The district administration has deployed field teams at vulnerable locations to monitor conditions and respond quickly to any incidents caused by heavy rainfall.

The move comes after the Meteorological Department forecast continued rain in Murree until August 5, raising concerns over possible landslides, flash runoff, and hazards near natural streams.

Tourists and residents have been advised to avoid visiting landslide-prone areas, water channels, and locations with heavy runoff during the rainy period. Authorities have also urged visitors to check weather updates before traveling to the hill station.

The administration said all relevant departments are on alert, while citizens have been advised to immediately contact Rescue 1122 in case of any emergency.

Officials said precautionary measures are being taken to ensure public safety during the monsoon season.

Rain Brings Relief to Burewala 

Intermittent rainfall has brought much-needed relief to residents of Burewala, Vehari, and surrounding areas after days of intense heat and high humidity.

The showers lowered temperatures and improved weather conditions, with residents welcoming the cooler atmosphere after prolonged hot and uncomfortable days.

However, the rainfall also disrupted routine activities in some areas, as electricity supply was affected due to outages on several urban and rural feeders.

Power authorities worked to restore affected connections, while local administrations remained alert to address any rain-related issues.

Residents said the change in weather provided a welcome break from the harsh heat, as the monsoon system continued to influence conditions across the region.
