Police Probe Woman’s Death After Body Found at Home

Rawalpindi: A woman was found dead inside a house within the jurisdiction of Saddar Baruni Police Station, prompting police to register a murder case on the complaint of her brother.

According to Rawalpindi Police, the woman’s body was found in the living room of the house. A case has been registered under relevant murder provisions, while the woman’s husband and cousin, who have been nominated in the case, are being taken into custody for questioning.

Initial investigation suggests that the woman may have died by hanging. However, police said the cause and circumstances of her death have not yet been conclusively established and an investigation is underway.

The deceased’s post-mortem examination has been conducted. Police said the final cause of death will be determined after reviewing the post-mortem and forensic reports.

Rawalpindi Police said further legal action would be taken strictly in accordance with the facts and evidence emerging during the investigation.

The police maintained that merit and transparency would be ensured throughout the investigation.
