Saudi Health Teams Conduct 365 Surgeries During Hajj Season

Islamabad: Saudi Arabia’s healthcare system has delivered more than 1.27 million medical services to pilgrims since the beginning of Hajj 1447 AH, marking one of the largest healthcare operations during the annual pilgrimage.
According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), a total of 1,273,380 healthcare services were provided to pilgrims by the 11th of Dhul-Hijjah as part of comprehensive arrangements to ensure the safety and well-being of Hajj participants.
The report said that 68,237 pilgrims received primary healthcare and urgent care services, while emergency departments handled 52,709 cases and outpatient clinics treated 21,253 patients.

Around 5,772 pilgrims were admitted to hospitals during the Hajj season, while medical teams conducted 365 surgeries, including 291 cardiac catheterizations and 30 open-heart surgeries.
Healthcare teams also treated 1,260 cases of heat exhaustion and other heat-related illnesses through dedicated field response units operating across Makkah and the holy sites.
Authorities said preventive health measures and awareness campaigns continued alongside treatment services to ensure the safety of pilgrims during the peak days of Hajj.
The unified health hotline 937 received more than one million calls during the season, reflecting the extensive healthcare support system available to pilgrims.
Saudi health authorities added that medical teams would continue to provide advanced healthcare services throughout the remaining days of Hajj to ensure pilgrims complete their rituals safely, comfortably, and in good health.
