Woman Killed, Husband Injured in Robbery Attempt

Multan: A woman was shot dead and her husband injured when armed assailants opened fire during a late-night robbery attempt near Nawaz Sharif Agricultural University in the Booti Wala area, according to rescue officials.
Officials from Rescue 1122 said the control room received reports of gunfire near the university, prompting the immediate dispatch of two ambulances to the scene.
Preliminary information suggests that unidentified armed men entered a house with the intent to commit robbery. During the incident, the woman—identified as Rukhsana Bibi, wife of Nadeem Ahmed—raised an alarm, after which the suspects opened fire.
She died on the spot, while her husband, Nadeem Ahmed, son of Nazir Ahmed, sustained a bullet injury to his leg.
Rescue teams provided first aid to the injured and shifted him to Nishtar Hospital for further treatment. The body of the deceased was also moved to the hospital after police completed legal formalities.
Police have launched an investigation into the incident and are searching for the suspects.
