Hina Javed Murder Case: Two Suspects Shifted for DNA Tests

Rawalpindi: Investigators have intensified the hunt for forensic evidence in the Hina Javed murder case, with police taking two suspects to Lahore for DNA testing as the investigation enters a crucial stage.
According to police sources, Hina Javed’s husband, Faisal Fayyaz, and a domestic worker have been shifted to Lahore for collection of DNA samples at the Punjab Forensic Science Laboratory (PFSL).
The samples will be examined as part of efforts to determine whether forensic evidence links either suspect to the crime scene. Police are also considering polygraph examinations to further assess statements recorded during the investigation.
The development comes as the three-day physical remand of both suspects is due to expire today. They are expected to be produced before a court tomorrow, where police may seek further custody depending on investigative findings.
Investigators are examining the case from several angles and are awaiting forensic reports and other evidence to establish the circumstances surrounding Hina Javed’s death.
The forensic investigation has gained importance following the release of the victim’s postmortem report. The report showed that the 45-year-old woman had suffered a fractured neck bone, along with injuries to her ribs and hip.
It also stated that blood had accumulated around the membrane surrounding her heart. The postmortem examination was carried out approximately 12 hours after her death.
The case was registered at Civil Lines Police Station in Rawalpindi on the complaint of Hina Javed’s brother, Fahad Javed. Her husband, father-in-law and a domestic worker were named in the FIR.
On August 20, police produced Faisal Fayyaz and the domestic worker before a local court, which granted them three-day physical remand.
According to the FIR, Hina Javed’s body was discovered in the bathroom of her house on the morning of August 20. Her hands were allegedly tied behind her back, a cloth had been placed over her face, and an electric wire was wrapped around her neck and attached to a shower.
Police are continuing to investigate the case, with DNA results, other forensic findings and additional evidence expected to play a key role in determining the next course of action. Additional input from Aaj News website.
