Heavy Snow Makes Babusar Route Dangerous for Travel
News Desk
Naran: Authorities have issued a travel advisory for Babusar Top following heavy snowfall and hazardous road conditions, urging tourists and travelers to exercise extreme caution while using the route.
According to officials, the Babusar Top road and adjoining areas have been partially reopened for one-way traffic after snow clearance operations. However, authorities warned that the route becomes highly dangerous after 6:00 PM due to freezing temperatures that cause ice formation on the road, making travel nearly impossible.
The advisory stated that the early days of the tourist season carry multiple risks, including avalanches, slippery roads, brake failures, sudden glacier movement, falling rocks, and landslides, all of which could endanger human life and property.
Authorities strongly advised tourists, transporters, and local residents to avoid unnecessary travel on the Babusar route until the road is officially declared fully safe and completely cleared for traffic.
Citizens have also been urged to strictly follow instructions issued by the district administration and police to ensure public safety during the prevailing weather conditions.
